Mills, Parrous Push Seahawks Past Royals

With the new news, Charlotte North Carolina UNCW started the women’s football season with two goals in the second half by defenders Chloe Mills and Talia Paras and 2-0 Queens at Dixon Field on Thursday evening.

The young season Seahawks improved to 1–0 with a shutout win, perfectly placed in front of the left post, with Mills, who played a team-high 85 minutes to boot, for the final game-winning score.

The Seahawks added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute when redshirt junior Grace Guler launched a ball into a crowded box. Standing on the edge of the right post, Paras leapt and marched towards his sixth career goal to keep the competition on the ice.

Goalkeepers Blair Barefoot and Hannah Wise each posted a pointless half for the Seahawks in which Wise introduced the Seahawks as the Seahawks continued their three-game road swing at No. 10 North Carolina on Sunday.

Kick-off from Dorrance Field will take place at 1 pm. UNCW extended their record to 14–14–1 in the season opener, with head coach Chris Neill on 3–2 points as the Seahawks beat the Royals 6–5.
