An NYPD detective was charged Saturday with assaulting a neighbor during an off-duty argument in Queens, police said Sunday.

Det. Dwayne James, 45, an 18-year NYPD veteran assigned to the Emergency Service Unit, was busted in Queens Saturday evening and charged with assault and harassment. Police said he punched a neighbor after an argument between the two men turned physical.

James was suspended without pay after the arrest, a police spokesman said.
