Elon Musk carried a sink into Twitter on Wednesday as deal nears close

Twitter’s acquisition is just a few days away and defying a new court date, billionaire Elon Musk walked into the company’s San Francisco office on Wednesday with what appeared to be a porcelain bathroom sink in his hands.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO tweeted along with a video of their entrance.

The person, who declined to be named when discussing internal matters, said employees are trying to keep working despite the full focus on the deal, and despite reports that Musk could be in with a massive layoff.

Some employees say they feel like he might burn it if he buys it. Office workers were briefed about the trip, according to an email shared by CNN and Bloomberg reporters.

The sender, whom Bloomberg identified as Twitter’s chief marketing officer Leslie Berland, wrote that Musk will be in the office this week, meeting people, walking down the halls and continuing to dive into everyone’s important work if you’re in SF.

The email also said that employees will hear directly from Musk on Friday. A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment on Musk’s tweets, before Musk changed his details on the social media service where he has more than 110 million followers, ChiefTwitter.

Musk has until 5 p.m. Eastern Time Friday faced an offer to buy or re-test Twitter to meet its deal. But the spam and bots were not coming.

Twitter has denied claims it attempted to pull out of their $44 billion merger agreement it claimed would have material adverse effects, a Delaware Chancery Court judge set a Friday deadline.

That’s when Musk said he would eventually be willing to buy Twitter otherwise it would set new test dates for November.
