Chris Evans named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive

Chris Evans, PEOPLE’s new name Sexiest Man Alive, is already putting the title to work — and his superhero alter ego, Captain America would be proud.

In a video shared Monday night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the star is asked to say “something sexy on People’s 2016 Sexiest Man Alive” by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In response, Evans points to the camera in Captain America style and announces, Vote Tomorrow. The Rock, who co-stars with Evans in the upcoming Christmas film Red One, then replies, “That’s sexy! Tuesday’s midterm elections will determine important races in the Senate, House, state legislatures, and more.”

In 2020, Evans launched the bipartisan politics site A Starting Point, telling people that the idea came from their own frustration at not being able to find reliable, fact-based information online about basic political topics and policies.

The 41-year-old actor said, “It’s not that I’m particularly drawn to politics. When you look around you, you try to figure out how you can help.”

Referring to his role of Captain America in the blockbuster Avengers movies, he said, “As an actor you can do a lot with your name. I can make wine – I don’t discourage anyone from doing that. ” Is this

I love wine—but there’s no denying that I played a certain character, and that aligns with part of my nature, as a person who is politically inclined. And who cares about the well being of the people of this country.”

He also shared his thoughts about civic engagement with Fast Company in 2020. We live in a country of over 300 million people, I think 60 percent of the people voted [in the last election]. You will find it difficult to form a government that accurately reflects who we are as a nation of such numbers.”
